The number of effective childcare hours can vary per month, for example, due to holidays or study days. Therefore, Kappio invoices a fixed number of hours every month. This way, you know exactly where you stand and do not have to report changes to the Tax Authorities (Belastingdienst) every month for the childcare allowance (kinderopvangtoeslag).
To arrive at this fixed monthly amount, we calculate the total number of weeks of childcare for which you are contractually paying and divide this by 12 months. Below you will find a calculation example to clarify.
1 full day of daycare, 51 weeks of care (the daycare is closed for one week, between Christmas and New Year)
1 day = 11 hours of care
11 hours x 51 weeks = 561 hours of care/year.
561 hours/12 months = 46.75 hours of care per month.
Therefore, with 1 day of care per week, you purchase an average of 46.75 hours of care at Kappio.
2 days per week of preschool, 40 school weeks of care (the preschool is also closed during school holidays)
1 morning = 4 hours of care, 2 mornings = 8 hours of care.
8 hours x 40 weeks = 320 hours of care/year.
320/12 months = 26.67 hours of care per month.
Therefore, with 2 mornings per week of preschool, you purchase an average of 26.67 hours of care at Kappio.
Does your child have a VVE-indication from the youth doctor?
If so, the 3rd and 4th mornings of preschool are billed directly to the municipality. Therefore, you will not see these hours and the associated costs on your invoice.
