How does registering at Kappio childcare work?

Registering at Kappio Childcare is entirely without obligation. To ensure quick and careful processing of your registration, we ask you to complete all fields of the registration form on our website. After you have submitted the form digitally, you will receive a response from us via email within two weeks.

I have registered, what now?

After your registration has been confirmed, the Planning&Placement department will check if there is a place available for your child(ren) from your desired start date.

Is the desired start date further in the future? If so, the department will contact you no later than six months before this date to discuss the possibilities. Does the desired start date fall within these six months? If so, our colleagues will contact you as soon as possible regarding the available options.

No place may be available at that time. In that case, we will inform you of this and place your child on the waiting list. The waiting lists are continuously evaluated. As soon as a place becomes available, the Planning&Placement department will contact you to discuss the possibilities for a start.

How long is the waiting list?

If there is a waiting list, and if so, what is the length of that list, varies by location and sometimes even by childcare day. This is because childcare is constantly evolving. We plan up to 6 months in advance. If there is still no place available for your child during this period, we will place them on the waiting list.

When processing registrations, we use the order of arrival. This also applies to placement on the waiting list. The colleagues at Planning&Placement carefully maintain this list. As soon as a place becomes available that matches your request, they will contact you immediately.

Does your childcare need change while your child is on the waiting list? Please feel free to contact Planning&Placement. They are happy to discuss the possibilities and potential alternatives with you.

When is there availability?

Every location and type of childcare has a maximum number of children that may be accommodated. These rules are established by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) and form the basis of our planning.

For every application, we carefully consider your wishes and the available options. Sometimes there is immediate availability, and sometimes it takes a little more time to find a suitable place. Are you unable to start immediately on your preferred days? We are happy to work with you to find alternatives so that your child can start as soon as possible.

Is the desired start date more than 6 months in the future? Then we will place your application on the waiting list. Your application will be processed as soon as the schedule for this period is created.

I haven't received an offer yet. How is that possible?

You will receive a response from the Planning & Placement department no later than 14 days after your registration. After your registration, they will check if there is a place available for your child(ren) from the desired start date.

Is this start date further in the future? Then we will contact you at least 6 months in advance to discuss the possibilities.

Does your desired start date fall within these 6 months and have you not heard from us after 14 days? Then please contact Planning & Placement.

Waiting lists for a specific location

The length of the waiting list changes regularly. This is due to continuous movement, for example, caused by relocations, cancellations, or changes in childcare needs.
As soon as we receive a complete registration from you for a specific location, we will carefully review the possibilities for placing your child.

Is your desired start date more than 6 months in the future? Then it is still too early to say anything about the waiting list. We will process your application as soon as the schedule for this period is drawn up.

We advise all parents to register their child (without obligation) in advance. This allows us to review the situation with you in time. You can always change or withdraw your registration or refuse an offer free of charge.

Change days or desired start date on the waiting list

It may happen that your childcare needs change, for example because you are assigned different working days or because your leave ends on a different date.

Please inform the Planning & Placement department of any changes to your desired days or start date as soon as possible. They will adjust your application and review the available placement options.
